DESSO Takes the Floor at Seatrade, Florida
06 March 2008
The global market leader in floorings for cruise liners and ferries, DESSO will again be exhibiting its outstanding range of marine carpeting at the Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention in
Miami, Florida this March.
Throughout the four days of March 10-13, 2008, owners and operators of the worlds leading cruise lines will be able to see for themselves what makes DESSO the first choice for so many fleet owners, with its
enviable reputation for quality throughout all areas of a marine vessel.
Benefiting from a history spanning seven decades, and more than twenty years at the global forefront, DESSO’s knowledge of the marine markets and its in-house technical expertise have produced a great range of outstanding commercial floorings which couple its trademark hardwearing quality with a truly competitive edge in style and design, whether buyers are choosing from stock or commissioning custom-designed carpets tailored to exact design requirements.
Offering superb ranges including Axminster & Wilton woven and Colortec & Crossover tufted wall-to-wall carpets, DESSO is able to cover the flooring of an entire vessel, anywhere in the world. All marine
products meet or exceed the demands of marine regulations, such as the MSC 61 (67) part two and five resolutions, and the exacting requirements of international markets.
The DESSO design department works quickly and flexibly to produce draft designs and colours in print or as trial samples, while the technical department keeps overage and seams waste to a minimum by calculating the most efficient production quantities.
The service can be extended to an installation plan which uses balemarkings to indicate clearly the exact positioning of carpet roll, to ensure smooth co-operation with installers, and where necessary a
project coordinator is made available to coordinate all the parties, safeguard progress and enable deadlines to be met.
All DESSO carpets are tested rigorously in-house as well as in external test facilities. Vertically integrated manufacturing means all production processes are performed under DESSO’s own roof, creating an optimum level of quality control while retaining a high degree of design flexibility. The company is ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and EN9100 certified.
Visitors will also be able to experience DESSO’s long-standing commitment to sustainable practices and eco-conscious commerce, and its continual striving to improve the environmental characteristics of its products, production, packaging and energy use.
Stef Kranendijk, CEO of DESSO, says: This may not be DESSO’s first time at Seatrade but this year we are here as a strongly independent company, eager to show old friends and future customers the recent
advances we have been making in classic and contemporary design, durability and environmental responsibility.
The Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention runs March 10-13, 2008 at the Miami Beach Convention Centre, Miami Beach, Florida. DESSO will be exhibiting on stand 1101.
