DESSO delivers carpet for cruiseship Eurodam

22.000 square meters of carpet in new HAL ship
The Eurodam, the new cruiseship of Holland America Line (HAL), arrived in its home port Rotterdam on June 29th. The inauguration of the ship took place on July 1st, in the presence of Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. 20.000 square metres of the ship - the public areas - have been carpeted by DESSO. DESSO was also responsible for the carpeting of the three largest passenger ships in the world: the ‘Freedom of the Seas’, ’Liberty of the Seas’ and the ‘Independence of the Seas’, all operated by Royal Caribbean.
The carpet was also produced by DESSO. Completely custom made, especially for the Eurodam. 20.000 square metres of high quality woven Axminster carpet covers the public areas. Several agencies designed stylish detailed patterns for the carpet, which make the carpet come to life and play a significant aesthetic role in the space.
