DESSO at Design PRIMA 08 ( 3rd to 5th June 2008)

16 May 2008

DESSO Limited is showcasing its Carpetecture Pure Lines Collection on Stand B7 at this year’s Design Prima 08 exhibition.  The Pure Lines design theme takes, as its starting point, the strata and parallel forms that run throughout a building and its very fabric.

Highlights on the stand will include the DESSO Connect cut pile carpet tile.  Connect is inspired by the continuity in metropolitan structures and cityscapes, with a strong vertical direction.  Connect carpet tiles feature this linearity interspersed with differing colour intervals.  Eight intensive colours, each with four tonal variations, accentuate the ‘melange’ effect, and its cut pile surface embodies a natural texture and luxurious feel.

Also making an appearance is DESSO Scape – a stunning loop pile carpet tile, available in ten colours.  Scape takes its reference from the weave patterns of hand-driven looms, whose lines seems to be regular and systematic but also express variation and individuality.  These irregular highs and lows create a wonderful depth and dimension.  Adding to this subtlety is the colour choice of soft greys and beiges inspired by natural materials, whilst blue, terracotta and red options can add a sense of identity.

Both products offer the architect and designer multiple design options, to achieve a variety of looks in a wide range of interiors, and as part of a total interior design.

The Carpetecture concept, introduced by DESSO last autumn, draws inspiration from the architectural spirit of our times, and is a powerful example of DESSO’s commitment to creative carpet design.  Carpetecture is a new way of thinking in floor covering design, the carpet becomes more than just a floor covering – it performs alongside the other architectural elements.
